Ampney Crucis Village Hall, built in 1926, is an ideal venue to hire for meetings, parties, classes and other social activities at very reasonable rates for regular use or one-off events.
Over the years the Trustees and Management Committee have been striving to keep the Hall in good order to provide an attractive facility for current and future users.
In August 2015, thanks to financial support from The Summerfield Charity Trust, the CDC and Village Charities the Village Hall installed double glazing throughout and purchased new audio-visual equipment, including an electrically operated screen.
In 2021 we were able to replace our inefficient heating with ceiling mounted infra-red panels and in 2023, thanks to the generosity of the Parish Council, Wi Fi was installed for the convenience of all hall users.
During 2023, in order to save costs at a time of high electricity prices and to maintain our charges at a low level, we decided to progress the installation of solar panels. This was undertaken through Crowdfund Cotswold (CDC and Spacehive) and a comprehensive fundraising programme commenced. This exceeded our expectations, and we raised over £30,000 from the Local Community with special thanks for grants received from the CDC, Build Back Better and the Parish Council. The solar system was completed in July 2024, and we are now benefitting from generating our own electricity.
As a result of fundraising from various events and activities we are now developing a plan for the further refurbishment of the Hall.
